Preliminary and Detailed Design.

Description of Project:
ETC Engineering S.r.l. the task of designing the technical-economic and definitive feasibility for the adaptation works of the inter-municipal treatment plant of Bergamo – Lot 2. The main objectives that guided the design of the intervention already from the design phases of Technical and Economic Feasibility are:
- Increase the potential of the existing plant, equal to 90,000 PE, in order to guarantee the treatment of the hydraulic load of the agglomeration equal to 167,962 PE;
- Provide for all those interventions that allow compliance with the discharge limits.
PLACE OF EXECUTION: The area occupied by the Bergamo treatment plant is in the municipality of Bergamo (BG). The plant, located in a highly urbanized industrial context and within the plant itself there is practically no space for creating new works.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKS: the project involves the construction of a new treatment line which, together with the existing line, will allow the load generated by the agglomeration to be treated.
Furthermore, the subdivision of the new line into 3 sub-lines is envisaged to:
- Already carry out all the civil works of the 3 lines, each of 40,000 PE, to allow in the future to have the tanks ready for electromechanical installations and allow the treatment of a total potential equal to 210,000 PE (considering the existing plant and the new one in operation); • Carry out the electromechanical interventions which allow the treatment of a load equal to 80,000 PE, in order to guarantee the complete treatment of the agglomeration in question.
WATER LINE: • Derivation along the sewage collectors, gravel removal, preliminary screening and initial lifting; • Coarse grilling pre-treatments; • Fine grilling pre-treatments; • Sand and oil removal pre-treatments; • Distribution of flow among the secondary treatment lines; • Biological treatment consisting of a new MBR line built in the expansion area: the construction of civil works of no. 3 lines, each of 40,000 PE for a total potential of 120,000 PE, and all the electromechanical interventions that allow the treatment of a load equal to 80,000 PE. This plant will discharge the permeate into a new discharge point; • New unloading point in Colatore di Dalcio.
SLUDGE LINE: The treatment chain of the sludge line is divided into the following phases:
- Two-stage static pre-thickening; • Dynamic thickening; • Two-stage anaerobic digestion; • Biogas cogeneration; • Mechanical dehydration by centrifugal decanter; • Relaunching supernatants in the water line.
